On January 15, 2026, the novel Seasons of the Wind by Tunisian novelist  lamine Saidi was published by Fasila Publishing and Distribution House in Egypt.
This novel comes after a series of successful literary works by the author that have been translated into several languages and achieved record sales across various Arab countries. Al-Amin Al-Saidi first gained wide recognition with his novel City of Women, whose first edition was released in 2021 and later reached its third edition. The novel was translated into French, English, and Spanish.
His novel The Shadow of Thorns was also an important contribution to contemporary Arab literature, as it explores the issues of modern humanity while anticipating political and social realities. The Shadow of Thorns was likewise translated into French and English, sparking wide debate among critics, much like his other works such as The Noise of the Blind and The Last Exile.
Seasons of the Wind was published approximately two months after the novelist lamine saidi was named “Best Tunisian National Personality of 2025” by the Arab Center for Parental Education.
The novel has achieved remarkable milestones in the history of the Arab novel, reaching its third edition within only a month and a half. It has already been translated into Romanian and French, and has also recorded strong sales in its digital edition.
The book has sparked considerable discussion among critics and readers alike, to the point that its characters—Farouk, Georgina, Saleha, the Old Man of Wall Street, and the Gambling Sheikh—have become widely talked about among readers.
The story unfolds across several locations, including Tunisia, Asia, the United States, Germany, and France. It blends romanticism and realism, offering a forward-looking vision of the future of societies through a profound exploration of the shared human experience and the intersections between civilizations.
In Seasons of the Wind, lamine saidi delves deeply into the human psyche, demonstrating a mature narrative experience that skillfully blends science and art within a novelistic text that ventures into postmodern literary territory. The work is characterized by an engaging style, modern language, and a plot driven by suspense and intrigue, harmonizing the beauty of storytelling with the depth of philosophical reflection.
The novel also draws from the human sciences, distinguished by its density and concision, encouraging readers to engage intellectually with the text. Symbolism plays a central role in the narrative, particularly through the names of characters, places, and events.
Seasons of the Wind achieved the highest sales rate at the 2026 Cairo International Book Fair, and also recorded significant success at the Damascus International Book Fair in Syria. It has been distributed in several other countries and will be available at the Tunis International Book Fair from April 23 to May 3, 2026.
Prominent critics in Egypt have described the novel as an exceptional work in Arab literature and a revolutionary contribution to the Tunisian novel.
